Hyderabad: The Kalapather police on Monday arrested one Mohd Imran on charges of demanding money from a GHMC corporator.
Imran, a resident of Kalapather, allegedly called up legislators and corporators over the phone and questioned them about developmental works in their area. “He threatened them of uploading the audio clips on social media and demanded money. A complaint was lodged by corporator Mohd Khadeer alleging that Imran reached his house and demanded money apart from threatening him,” Kalapather Inspector S Sudharshan said.
Another complaint was received against Imran on charges of calling Bahadurpura MLA Mohd Moazam Khan on Saturday and threatening him. “We have forwarded the complaint to the court for permission and will register a case after obtaining it,” the Inspector said, adding that Imran was earlier bound over following similar complaints and that two e-petty cases were also registered against him.
