Mahabubabad: A man was beaten to death for allegedly having an extramarital affair with a woman at Kothapet village in Bayyaram mandal in the district on Sunday night. The deceased was identified as Botra Dumbrumaji (40) of Rangapur district of Odisha State.

He was working in a brick kiln unit on the outskirts of the Kothapet village, while the woman, who is also from Odisha, is working at another brick kiln unit. It is said that the victim was caught red-handed while in a compromising position with the woman near the brick kiln unit by the woman’s husband.

Enraged over their act, the husband of the woman, who was identified as Sibganda, had tied Dumbrumaji to a wooden pole and thrashed him severely leading to his death on the spot. The accused has also severely thrashed his wife and surrendered to the police. The injured woman is undergoing treatment in a hospital. Police have registered a case and launched an investigation.
