Hyderabad: The Banjara Hills police registered a case against a person for allegedly threatening actor and politician Vijaya Shanthi and her husband Srinivas Prasad, over some financial disputes.
According to the police, a man N Chandrakiran Reddy approached the MLC Vijaya Shanthi and introduced himself as a social media handler. Chandrakiran told the MLC that he could help her increase presence and followers on social media platforms and struck a deal with her.
Believing him Vijaya Shanthi allowed the man to handle the social media accounts. However she reportedly did not notice any major changes and instead came to know Chandrakiran was using her name and promoting himself. Vijaya Shanthi and her husband Prasad, then asked Chandrakiran to discontinue.
Enraged over it, Chandrakiran started sending threatening messages to the actor and her husband and also demanded money for services rendered by him, said the police.
The couple approached the police and made a complaint. The police registered a case against Chandrakiran and investigating.
