Man caught for stealing in Sangareddy dies by suicide, mother follows suit

Sangareddy: In a bizarre incident, a man, who allegedly stole a mini trolley from his village, was forced to steal three other vehicles as the trolley got stuck in the mud. When the villagers noticed his act, he unlocked a bike and fled the scene.
When the villagers recognised him from CCTV footage, the villagers reached his home and asked his family members to accompany him to the crime scene to sort out the issue. On his way to the place, he got off his bike and jumped into the river Manjeera at Chintakunta village and his mother, who was pillion riding with him on the bike, also jumped after him on Tuesday evening. The bodies of Vadla Sham (21) and his mother Balamani (46) were retrieved on Wednesday.
According to police, Shyam, a resident of Chintakunta in Andole, stole the trolley of a man from the village on Monday night. While he was proceeding towards Medak, the vehicle got stuck in the mud at Bujarampet in Kowdipally mandal. He went into the village and stole a tractor to pull the trolley out of the mud. When the tractor also got stuck the mud, he stole another tractor from the village. Meanwhile, some villagers noticed him and alerted the rest. Fearing the attack, he stole a two-wheeler from the village and fled the spot. However, the owners of the four vehicles demanded his presence at Bujarampet to sort out the issue in the panchayat, and Shyam’s family agreed to it.

The family members of Shyam said they had urged the vehicle owners to take him to the police station. Fearing an attack during the panchayat, he ended his life, he said.
A case was registered and investigation is on.
