Man dies by suicide at Osmania General Hospital
A 63-year-old hernia patient died by suicide after jumping from the second floor of Osmania General Hospital in Hyderabad on Sunday. Identified as Ayyub Khan, he was scheduled for surgery on Monday. Police have launched an investigation.

Hyderabad: A patient died by suicide by jumping from the Osmania General Hospital building on Sunday.
As per available information, Ayyub Khan (63), a truck driver from Indira Nagar in Tandur of Vikarabad district had been admitted to the hospital for treatment of hernia on August 13.
The doctors had scheduled surgery for Monday. While undergoing treatment as an inpatient in the ward on the second floor of the hospital building, Ayyub Khan jumped out of the bathroom window on Sunday.
He suffered multiple grievous injuries and was rushed to the emergency ward, where he succumbed later while undergoing treatment.
Family members said that he may have been scared by the prospect of surgery, leading him to take the extreme step. His son further mentioned that Ayyub Khan had been mentally unstable for some time.
The Afzalgunj police are investigating.
