Man drowns in Sitarama Project canal in Kothagudem

A 45-year-old man drowned in the Rajiv canal of Sitarama Project near Vinobanagar village in Julurupad mandal of Kothagudem district on Tuesday. Boda Nagaiah had gone fishing when he accidentally slipped into the canal and drowned.

The deceased, Boda Nagaiah (45), a resident of Vinobanagar, went to the canal near the village to fish. He accidentally slipped and fell into the canal. Labourers working nearby noticed the incident and informed his family.

The family rushed to the site, retrieved him from the canal and shifted him to Julurupad Primary Health Centre, where doctors examined him and confirmed his death. The local police registered a case and launched an investigation into the incident.
