Hyderabad: A contract employee of the Electricity department got electrocuted while working on electric pole at Moula Ali on Thursday.
The man, Tejaswar Rao (22), a resident of Moula Ali and native of Srikakulam district, was attending to some repair works on a 11 KV pole when he got electrocuted. The body was hanging to the line for a while till department officials checked the source of power supply to the wires.
The Malkajgiri police reached the spot and with the help of other workers, brought the body down and shifted it to Gandhi Hospital mortuary for autopsy.
Following the incident, several contract employees gathered at the Moula Ali sub-station alleging that the death occurred due to negligence of officials. Senior officials of the department also reached the substation to hold talks with employees’ union leaders.
