Siddipet: Siddipet Municipal officials imposed a fine of Rs 10,000 on a person for felling trees planted some ten years ago at Cotton Market Yard located on Karimnagar road in Siddipet town.

Following a complaint from Horticulture Officer Samala Ilaiah, Two Town Inspector went through the CCTV footage to identify the culprit as Puram Shiva Kumar, who was building a house close to the place where the trees were located. Shiva Kumar admitted that he chopped down the trees to clear the way for construction. The officials slapped a fine of Rs 10,000 as he felled the trees without obtaining permission.
