Hyderabad: The Jubilee Hills police arrested a man on charges of harassing and threatening a TV junior artiste here late on Thursday.

The actress who is a native of West Godavari in Andhra Pradesh had moved to Krishna Nagar and has been working in television serials.


According to the police, the suspect Phani Teja (32), from Krishna Nagar and also working in the film industry became friends with the actress during a shoot and the duo continued their friendship.

Subsequently, Phani Teja prosposed love to her and the woman rejected. Angered by this, he started harassing her by sending abusive messages and videos. He also threatened to share her morphed pictures on social media if she continued to avoid him.

Based on her complaint, the Jubilee Hills police booked a case and arrested Phani Teja. He was produced before court and remanded in judicial custody.
