Man held for harassing woman in Hyderabad

According to the police, the woman who is from West Godavari in Andhra Pradesh had come to the house of her relative at Banjara Hills

Hyderabad: The Punjagutta police arrested a man for allegedly outraging the modesty of a woman at Ameerpet bus stop on Saturday night.

According to the police, the woman who is from West Godavari in Andhra Pradesh had come to the house of her relative at Banjara Hills. On Saturday, around midnight the woman came to Ameerpet bus stop to catch a bus to go home when one Mahesh came to the spot and misbehaved with her after trying to start a conversation.

“The woman shouted for help and police patrolling party reached the spot. Mahesh misbehaved with the police constable and injured him during a scuffle with him,” said Punjagutta police.

The police later overpowered Mahesh and shifted him to Punjagutta police station. A case under Sections 354A, 332, 504 and 506 IPC is registered against him and the man was taken into custody.
