Police seized 30,000 litres of biodiesel from the spot

Hyderabad: The Keesara police arrested one K Giridhar on charges of illegally preparing and storing biodiesel at a storage point in Rampally here on Friday. Police seized 30,000 litres of biodiesel from the spot.

Police said Giridhar had started the illegal business last month and was preparing and selling the fuel to dealers at higher rates. Unlike vegetable and waste oils used to fuel converted diesel engines, biodiesel is a drop-in biofuel, and is compatible with existing diesel engines and distribution infrastructure, police said.
