Man held for raping minor girl in Ragibavi village

A 27-year-old man from Ragibavi village in Bhongir district was arrested for allegedly raping a minor girl. The incident surfaced after the victim’s mother filed a police complaint. The accused has been booked under the POCSO Act and remanded to judicial custody.

Bhongir: A 27-year-old man from Ragibavi village under the jurisdiction of Mothkur police station limits was arrested on Wednesday on charges of raping a minor girl. Police said a minor girl from the same village was allegedly raped by the accused identified as Rampaka Maheshender.

The incident came to light after the girl’s mother lodged a complaint with the police.

Mothkur SHO Venkteshwarlu confirmed that a case has been registered against Maheshender under relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. The accused has been produced before the magistrate and remanded to judicial custody.
