Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Commissioner’s Task Force (South) caught Vishnu Gopal Tiwari (54), proprietor of Sainath agencies at Begum Bazaar for selling adulterated tea powder. The police seized 218 bags of raw tea powder, two bags of adulterated tea powder, a bottle of liquid chemical, a mixer machine and two weighing machines.
Police said Tiwari was mixing local tea powder along with that of branded companies and packing it into small sachets for sale.
“The adulterated tea powder is suspected of causing health effects,” DCP (task force) Gummi Chakravarthy said, adding that Tiwari was handed over to the Shahinayathgunj police for further action.
