Mancherial: A person was arrested by sleuths of Task Force for allegedly smuggling banned tobacco products at Tekumatla village in Jaipur mandal on Thursday. Tobacco products worth Rs 72,000 were recovered from them. Two others were absconding.
Ramagundam Task Force Inspector A Mahender said that the accused was Bandi Harsha, a resident of Tekumatla. Mahender said the accused was illegally smuggling tobacco and stored the products on the premises of his house. Kamaleshwar Sarma, a trader from Mancherial and Ravi of Naspur mandal, are still at large.
Harsha was handed over to Jaipur police for taking further action against him. Jaipur Probationary Sub-Inspector Srikanth, staffers of the task force Sadandam Goud, Sampath Kumar, Omkar and Rakesh took part in the operation.
