Man held for stalking, harassing woman on WhatsApp

Hyderabad: The Rachakonda Cybercrime police arrested a man from Andhra Pradesh on charges of stalking and harassing a woman on WhatsApp, police said.

According to the police, the arrested person, A Edukondalu (40), a mason from Chilakaluripet in Guntur, was a porn addict who watched videos on his mobile phone and randomly made WhatsApp video calls to unknown numbers without showing his face. If any woman accepted the video call, he would make frequent video calls and harass them. During one such attempt, he happened to make a WhatsApp video call to the complainant and sent obscene and abusive content to her and harassed her.

Based on her complaint, the Cybercrime police booked a case. He was identified and arrested.
