Man jailed for attempting to kill daughter, son-in-law in Hyderabad

The convict V Manohar Chary (50), a gold smith from Borabanda who bore a grudge against his daughter Madhavi and son-in-law Sandeep as they had an inter-caste marriage against his wish, attacked the couple with a knife in full public view in Erragadda

Hyderabad: A local court on Friday sentenced a man to 10 years rigourous imprisonment in an attempt to murder case of his daughter and son-in-law which was reported at SR Nagar in 2018. The court also imposed a fine of Rs 1,000 on him.

The convict V Manohar Chary (50), a gold smith from Borabanda who bore a grudge against his daughter Madhavi and son-in-law Sandeep as they had an inter-caste marriage against his wish, attacked the couple with a knife in full public view in Erragadda. The couple were grievously injured, but later recovered in hospital.

The SR Nagar police booked Manohar Chary and arrested him.
