Man jumps from police station building in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: A suspect in a theft case attempted to escape by jumping from the second floor window of Asifnagar police station on Sunday afternoon. His condition is stable, the police said.
Salman, was summoned to the Asifnagar police station along with four others as part of a probe into a case of theft of Rs. 56 lakh reported at a warehouse in Asifnagar early this month.
The owner of the premises Wajid, who runs a factory at Asifnagar had gone to his native place Bihar early this month and on returning he found cash of Rs. 56 lakh missing from the godown and lodged a complaint with the Asifnagar police.
“On Sunday, Wajid brought a total of five persons to the police station suspecting that all of them were involved in the theft of money. Around 2 pm, while the police were questioning them, Salman slipped and went to the window of the second floor and leapt down,” said A R Srinivas, Joint Commissioner of Police (west) zone.
On noticing it, the policemen immediately rushed downstairs and shifted Salman to Osmania General Hospital for treatment. “The doctors informed that Salman received fracture on his hand. His condition is stable,” the official said.
