Sangareddy: In a bizarre incident, a man jumped into a 60-feet deep open agriculture well, which had sufficient water, after his mother refused to buy him a motorbike, at Mamidgi village in Nyalkal mandal on Thursday. Solomon (25) survived since the well had sufficient water.

Solomon, who was doing petty jobs to earn a living, was married but was insisting on his mother Mogulamma to buy him a motorbike. However, she was delaying it citing lack of financial resources. Solomon had a serious argument with his mother on the same on Thursday after which he left the house telling Mogulamma that he would end his life.

Mogulamma and other family members followed him, urging him not to take any hasty decision. However, Solomon jumped into the well located a kilometre away from the house. Since there was water in the well, he survived the fall and held onto a borewell pipe.

When his mother and villagers appealed to him to climb out of the well, he said he would come up only if his mother agreed to buy him a bike. When she obliged, he climbed up the well holding the pipe and a rope.

The entire village heaved a sigh of relief after he climbed up from the well safely. He sustained no injuries.
