Man kills three children by setting them ablaze, dies by suicide in Telangana’s Nagarkurnool
A man from Andhra Pradesh allegedly killed his three children by setting them ablaze in Nagarkurnool before consuming pesticide and dying by suicide. Police traced him using CCTV footage and recovered the children’s charred bodies along the Hyderabad–Srisailam highway

Nagarkurnool: In a gruesome incident, a man set ablaze his three children, including two daughters and a son, and died by suicide at Uppanuthala mandal in the district. A native of Peddaboyapally in Andhra Pradesh, Gutta Venkateswarlu was married to Deepika. They had three children — Mokshita (8), Varshini (6) and Shivadharma (4).
After a quarrel with Deepika on August 30, Venkateswarlu took his three children to Srisailam. The same night, he went to Hajipur of Achampet in Nagarkurnool. On August 31, he killed Varshini and Shivadharma by setting them ablaze near Suryatanda at Uppanuthala mandal in the district. Similarly, he killed his elder daughter Mokshita at Thandra near Achampet, according to reports.
Later, he purchased pesticide at Achampet and consumed it. Locals noticed his body at Burakunta of Veldanda mandal on Wednesday morning. Based on a complaint lodged by Venkateswarlu’s brother Mallikarjuna Rao, the Veldanda police registered a case.
During the investigation, the police checked surveillance cameras and found Venkateswarlu carrying his children on a two-wheeler. They then searched both sides of Hyderabad- Srisailam national highway and found the charred bodies of the children, the reports added.
