Man sentenced to 20 years for raping daughter in Telangana

Anjaneyulu, from Munukuntla village in Kattangur mandal had raped his sixth-grade daughter when his wife was away and no one else was at home

Nalgonda: In a case of child abuse involving her father as the accused, the Special Judge of the Fast Track Court for Rape and POCSO Cases, Kulkarni Vishwanath Dilip Rao, has sentenced Akkenapalli Anjaneyulu, to 20 year imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 10,000.

The court gave the ruling under sections 376(2), (f)(i), 376(3) IPC and Sec 5(n) r/w 6 Of POCSO Act-2012, according to the Superintendent of Police, Sharat Chandra Pawar.

The incident occurred on December 14, 2023. Anjaneyulu, from Munukuntla village in Kattangur mandal had raped his sixth-grade daughter when his wife was away and no one else was at home. He threatened the victim of dire consequences and wanted her to keep silent about the incident.

As the mother returned home in the evening, she sensed something wrong with her daughter. The victim had revealed to her mother the ordeal she was subjected to.

The mother had immediately filed a complaint at the Kattangur police station. Following an investigation, the police collected the necessary evidence, which led to the conviction of Anjaneyulu on being found guilty and sentenced by the Court.

The Superintendent of Police praised the investigation officers, S Raghava Rao, C Srinivasa Reddy (Circle-Inspector of Police), D Raju (SI), CI Kondal Reddy and other staff involved in the investigation of the case.
