Man sentenced to life imprisonment for sexual assault and abetment of minor’s suicide
Komari Shiva Kumar was sentenced to rigorous life imprisonment and fined Rs 60,000 for sexually assaulting a minor girl in 2018, who later died by suicide following his threats and harassment

Hyderabad: A local court has sentenced Komari Shiva Kumar (33) to rigorous life imprisonment for sexually assaulting a minor girl who later died by suicide. The court also imposed a fine of Rs 60,000.
Kumar, a resident of Dundigal, was found guilty of sexually assaulting the minor girl in 2018. Prosecutors said he befriended the girl and lured her to an isolated location under the pretext of marriage. The victim later returned home and began experiencing health problems.
When she tried to contact Kumar, he threatened her and told her not to call him again. Distraught by his rejection and threats, the girl took her own life.
A case was immediately registered against Kumar, and he was arrested. After the trial, the court convicted him under multiple charges, including sexual assault under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and abetment of suicide. He was sentenced to rigorous life imprisonment and ordered to pay a fine of Rs 60,000.
