Man sentenced to life imprisonment in 2019 Upparpally murder case
A Medchal-Malkajgiri district court has sentenced 40-year-old Magani Ramulu to life imprisonment for murdering a woman at Upparpally circle in March 2019 after she resisted his sexual advances.

Hyderabad: A local court in Medchal-Malkajgiri district on Tuesday convicted a man for killing a woman and sentenced him to life imprisonment. The court also imposed a fine of Rs. 1,000 on him.
The man, Magani Ramulu (40), in March 2019 had murdered a woman at Upparpally circle when she resisted his sexual advances. He also committed a theft of victim’s mobile phone and escaped after killing her.
The body of the woman was later found by the police, who then registered a case and started an investigation. Ramulu was absconding for close to two years and arrested in February 2021.
A charge sheet was filed against him and the court, after the trial, found him guilty and convicted him. He is sentenced to life imprisonment. After the judgement was pronounced, Ramulu was shifted to Central Prison, Cherlapally.
