A prisoner from Bihar briefly escaped from Cherlapally Central Prison in Hyderabad on Sunday while carrying out wall painting work assigned by the jail authorities.

The man, identified as Shaik Khaja Miya alias Khaja Baba (35) of BN Reddy Nagar in Cherlapally, was sent to the prison on July 7 in connection with a case of theft.
