Hyderabad: A man whose motorcycle was seized by the police after he was caught during a drunk drive checking, climbed onto a high tension pole and threatened to end his life at Chevella in Ranga Reddy district.

According to the police, the man identified as Naresh, 32, a local resident was caught by the traffic police while he was driving in an inebriated condition on February 27. The police had seized his vehicle and asked him to attend counseling.

However, frustrated over his vehicle being seized, Naresh climbed onto a high tension pole on Wednesday and in a chilling move, walked across the high tension electric line as well.

On coming to know about it the police immediately rushed to the spot and persuaded him to come down. They managed to bring him down soon, assuring that they would return his motorbike. Police and locals stood all the while under the wires with a huge tarpaulin to catch him if he fell.

A video of the man’s terrifying walk across the electric line has gone viral. The police, meanwhile, have registered a case under Section 309 (attempt to commit suicide) of the Indian Penal Code against him.
