Man throws two children into lake, kills self in Telangana’s Siddipet

Three bodies retrieved on Sunday morning; according to police officials, family issues led the man to take the drastic step

Siddipet: Depressed over his younger brother’s behaviour towards him, a government school teacher ended his life by jumping into a lake after throwing his two children into it in Siddipet town. The teacher Telu Satyam (48) had shot a selfie video besides leaving a suicide note before ending his life According to the video and suicide note, Satyam took care of his younger brother Srinivas throughout his life and supported him in completing his education.

When Satyam sought repayment of a sum of Rs 5.5 lakh, which he had given to Srinivas, the latter reportedly refused and even attacked him with a chappal. Srinivas also threatened to kill him by giving the same amount as ransom to some contract killers. Depressed over his brother’s behaviour, Satyam left home on Saturday evening on his two-wheeler with his two children.

When his wife Sirisha could not reach him over the phone, Sirisha and her kin searched for them everywhere. Finally, they found the bike on the bund of the Chinthakunta lake. The bodies of Satyam, his son Advesh Nanda (8), and his daughter Trivanna Hasini were retrieved from the water on Sunday morning.

Satyam married Sirisha in 2016 after his first wife died due to sickness. Sirisha said her husband did not eat anything after he was attacked by his brother on Saturday. The police registered a case and bodies were shifted to the government hospital in Siddipet.
