Man who allegedly murdered wife, dies under suspicious circumstances in Adilabad

Police said that Latpate Maruthi (36), a dairy farm owner, was found dead on the outskirts near Jawaharnagar. He was earlier accused of killing his wife, Keerthi (30), by hacking her to death in Gudihathnoor on Thursday.

Adilabad: A man, who was booked on charges of killing his wife, was found dead under suspicious circumstances in Gudihathnoor on Saturday.

Police said that Latpate Maruthi (36), a dairy farm owner was found dead on the outskirts near Jawaharnagar. He was accused of hacking his wife, Keerthi (30) to death in Gudihathnoor on Thursday.

Maruthi went missing following the murder of Keerthi. His body was found on the edges of the village. Locals alerted the police who in turn rushed to the spot and shifted the body to a mortuary in Adilabad town. They recovered an empty bottle at the body. They suspected that Maruthi might have consumed pesticide fearing consequences of his act.

Investigating officials said that no external injuries were noticed. They stated that the cause of death could be known after receiving a post-mortem report.

Jagannath, father of Maruthi lodged a complaint with the police. A case of suspicious death was registered. Investigations are on.

On Thursday, a murder was registered against Maruthi for killing Keerthi. He reportedly developed an illegal affair with another woman. He was angry with Keerthi for obstructing him from meeting the woman. He sped up the spot after eliminating his wife.
