Two women murdered by husbands in separate incidents in erstwhile Adilabad
In the first instance, Keerthi (30) was brutally hacked to death by her husband Maruthi in Gudihathnoor mandal centre on Thursday. She was found dead in a pool of blood. Her husband fled the spot after killing Keerthi, police said. Motive behind the murder is yet to be ascertained.
Adilabad/Kumram Bheem Asifabad: In two different incidents, two women were murdered, allegedly by their husbands, in Adilabad and Kumram Bheem Asifabad districts on Thursday and Wednesday night.
In the first instance, Keerthi (30) was brutally hacked to death by her husband Latpate Maruthi in Gudihathnoor mandal centre when she was gathering drinking water in a pot at a tap at her parents’s house on Thursday. She was found dead in a pool of blood. Her husband fled the spot after killing Keerthi, police said. Motive behind the murder is yet to be ascertained.
Keerthi, a native of Gudihathnoor mandal headquarters got married to Maruthi around 10 years ago. They both were at loggerheads following some family disputes for quite a long time. The couple had three children.
Meanwhile, Doke Poshakka alias Banakka (42) was murdered by her husband at Vanjiri village in Kagaznagar mandal. She received serious injuries when her husband Jayaram attacked her with an iron farm tool, resulting in instantaneous death for her on Wednesday at around 10 pm. Jayaram picked up an argument with her and in a fit of rage, banged on her head with the tool.
She was the second wife of Jayaram, who was unhappy with her for being unable to conceive. Jayaram, an alcoholic, was reportedly quarrelling with Poshakka under the influence of liquor at regular intervals.
Raju Bai, the mother of the woman lodged a complaint with police. A case was registered. Investigations were taken up.
