Collector Kumar Deepak along with Additional Collector Motilal briefs arrangements of paddy procurment to the media persons in Mancherial on Thursday
Mancherial: Collector Kumar Deepak said all arrangements were in place for procuring paddy in the district. He along with Additional Collector (Revenue) S Motilal said 321 centres were created across the district to procure the paddy grains produced in this Yasangi season.
Grains classified as A grade would be offered Rs.2,320 per quintal, paddy in the general category was priced Rs.2,300 per quintal. He added that farmers who cultivated fine quality paddy would get a bonus of Rs.500 per quintal.
The Collector further said the estimated yield of the district was 3.41 lakh metric tonnes of paddy. As many as 3.31 lakh metric tonnes of paddy would be procured by the Civil Supplies department, while the remaining produce was going to be purchased by mills. A total of 82.98 lakh gunny bags were readied for the procurement.
He stated that steps were being taken to credit the cost of the paddy in accounts of the growers within 48 hours by immediately uploading data of the grains online using tablets. He warned that stringent action would be initiated against those who show negligence in procuring the paddy. Relevant equipment such as weighing machines, paddy cleaners, etc were already shifted to procurement centres.
District Civil Supplies Officer Brahma Rao, Civil Supplies Corporation district manager Shashikala and other officials were present.
