Mancherial: Police organised a bicycle rally from CCC Crossroads to IB Chowk to mark Police Commemoration Day in Mancherial on Tuesday. Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) A Bhaskar was the chief guest, while Mancherial ACP R Prakash also attended. The rally was conducted in collaboration with members of Bhavana Nirmana Karmika Sangham and the Lorry Owners Association.

Addressing the participants, Bhaskar said the police play a crucial role in protecting the internal security of the nation. He added that 50 policemen had lost their lives fighting against banned Maoists in the erstwhile Adilabad district alone, while 214 police personnel across the country had made the supreme sacrifice in the line of duty.
