Mancherial: A 12-year-old girl died, allegedly by suicide, after her mother reportedly reprimanded her for not completing her homework here on Tuesday evening.
Mancherial Sub-Inspector Sanath Reddy said Rameesa Hussain, the daughter of a revenue official and a Class 7 student at a private school, was found hanging to the ceiling of their home with her room being locked when her mother was busy in household chores.
She is said to have resorted to the extreme step after her mother scolded her for being slow in completing her homework.
Her mother managed to open the room with the help of neighbours and some daily-wage earners who were engaged in construction work nearby. Rameesa was found hanging unconscious. She was rushed to a hospital, where doctors declared her brought dead.
Based on a complaint received from the child’s father Rafatullah, a case was registered. Investigation is on.
