Mancherial: The District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), a unit of National Legal Services Authority (NALSA), is going to launch a six week legal awareness and outreach campaign, aims at spreading awareness among the people living in the far-flung areas of the country from October 2 to November 14, on the premises District Court complex on Saturday at 11 am.
DLSA district chairman and Principal District and Sessions Judge BS Jagjeevan Kumar and Superintendent Shailaja, in a press statement, said that the campaign was devised to empower the masses through education, particularly for the people living in rural, tribal and remote areas, about functioning of legal services institutions, availability of free legal services, their legal rights and entitlements guaranteed under the constitution as well as other welfare legislations.
During the campaign, the legal aid volunteers belonging to DLSA will be reaching each and every village of the country through its workforce and will ensure that every corner of the erstwhile Adilabad district feels the presence of Legal Services Institutions. During the campaign, legal aid volunteers will reach 6.7 lakh villages and over 4,100 municipal towns of the country. He advised the public to utilise the opportunity.
Meanwhile, DLSA Mancherial segment chairman D Venkatesh said that a similar awareness programme would be held for senior citizens on the premises of Ananda Nilayam, an old-age home in Mancherial on Saturday.
