Mancherial: Bonthala Madhukar, who is pursuing Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) at the Prof Jayashankar Telangana State Agriculture University (PJTSAU), won the best scholar award at an international conference on ‘Current Innovation and Technological Advances in Agriculture and Allied Sectors’ held in New Delhi on Saturday for his outstanding research topic.
The conference was organised by the Indian Society of Agriculture Science and Technology Research.
Madhukar was chosen for the award for carrying out research on a topic titled ‘Applying Weedicide on Maize Crop Using Drones’.
Hailing from Kalamadugu village in Jannaram, Madhukar completed his graduation in agriculture from a college at Polasa in Jagtial district before earning a post-graduation from the Visva Bharati University at Shantiniketan in West Bengal. He is the son of Mallesh, a farmer.
