Mancherial records over 500 Covid positive cases on Saturday
According to information provided by the authorities concerned, the district registered over 500 cases when swab samples of 2,240 suspected persons tested
Mancherial: The district continued to report more than 400 positive cases of Covid-19 for the past two days and it saw 522 cases on Saturday alone. It was the largest spike seen by the district in the second wave of infections, much to the worry of the public.
According to information provided by the authorities concerned, the district registered over 500 cases when swab samples of 2,240 suspected persons was investigated at primary health centres, community health centres and State-run hospitals across the district. The district general hospital alone had the highest cases of 52 followed by Urban Health Centre of Rajiv Nagar, which accounted for 37 cases.
Apart from the positive cases, the district saw two deaths due to coronavirus in the government hospitals. It had reported 436 and 465 positive cases on Thursday and Friday, respectively. Five patients succumbed to the virus while undergoing treatment in private hospitals.
