Mancherial: Kurra Sekhar, a social science teacher belonging to Zilla Parishad Secondary School at Kishtapur village in Jannaram mandal, was conferred with Vidya Seva Ratna award bestowed by Gandhi Global Family of Gyan Prathistan for his contributions to the field of education. He received the honour from Education Minister P Sabita Indra Reddy at a programme held in Hyderabad on Saturday evening.
Sekhar was chosen for presenting the award for playing a vital role in the school standing in top position in Telangana when it comes to securing National Means-Cum-Merit Scholarships, in achieving highest CGPA and in improving greenery of the institution. He thanked representatives of the organisation for giving the award. He was congratulated by colleagues and students.
Gandhi Gyan Prathistan chairman G Rajender Reddy, general secretary Prabhakar Reddy and many others were present.
