Mancherial youngster loses Rs 2.12 lakh to cyber fraudster
The 22-year-old, who invested Rs 2.12 lakh in a so-called job of giving reviews on Google search engine, realized that he was duped only when he could not withdraw the funds from his account
Mancherial: A youngster from Mandamarri town lost Rs 2.12 lakh to a cyber fraudster who conned him by promising to provide a job on Sunday.
Police said that the victim, a 22-year-old, received a message from a stranger on Telegram, stating that he could easily earn income by giving reviews on Google search engine. He was added to a group of 300 members of Telegram. He initially earned some profits. He was asked to invest more funds if he wanted to earn higher income.
Lured by profits, the youngster invested Rs 2.12 lakh in a phased manner. He realized that he was duped only when he could not withdraw the funds from his account.
He tried to contact the stranger, but in vain. He lodged a complaint with the police who registered a case and took up investigations.
