‘Manchi Mancherial’ selfie point removed by unidentified persons

The point consisting of the sculpture and greenery was created in 2022, as part beautification of important junctions of the town spending Rs.20 lakh.

Mancherial: A selfie point featuring a sculpture ‘Manchi Mancherial’ was removed by some unidentified persons at Ambedkar Chowrasta on Monday.

The point consisting of the sculpture and greenery was created in 2022, as part beautification of important junctions of the town spending Rs.20 lakh. The removal of the point has angered the locals. Residents said that the point added a beauty to Mancherial and reflected the communal harmony of the town. They demanded stern action against the perpetrators.

When asked, Mancherial Municipal commissioner A Maruthi Prasad said he was not unaware of the removal of the selfie point. He stated that he would inspect the spot and an inquiry would be initiated into the incident.

The chowrasta is a popular junction joining Mancherial-Chennur and Mancherial-Luxettipet roads.
