Mandal surveyor, assistant arrested for Rs 7,500 bribe in Nirmal
In Nirmal district, the Anti-Corruption Bureau arrested surveyor N Balakrishna Varma and his private assistant Pola Thirupathi while allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 7,500 from a farmer for land demarcation and issuing a panchanama.

Nirmal: A surveyor and his private assistant were arrested by sleuths of Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) while allegedly collecting a bribe of Rs 7,500 from a farmer to demarcate land and to give panchanama on the premises of the Nirmal Rural mandal Tahsildar’s office on Tuesday.
ACB DSP Madhu said that surveyor N Balakrishna Varma and his assistant Pola Thirupathi were apprehended while accepting the bribe through the private assistant when the sleuths laid a trap to nab them.
The complainant approached the sleuths when the surveyor harassed him, demanding a bribe of Rs 15,000. He had already paid Rs 5,000 to Balakrishna to do the official favor.
