ACB officials trapped Manthani Sub-Registrar Rajender and a private document writer for allegedly accepting a Rs 16,500 bribe from a farmer to register land in Peddapalli district. Further investigation is under way
Peddapalli: Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials caught Manthani Sub-Registrar Rajender and a private document writer while allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 16,500 from a farmer on Friday.
According to ACB officials, Sub-Registrar Rajender had demanded the bribe from a farmer belonging to Puttapaka village to register the latter’s land.
Unable to pay the bribe, the farmer approached the ACB, which laid a trap and caught Rajender while he was accepting Rs 16,500 through document writer Rasheed. Further investigation is under way.
