Maoists accuse Chhattisgarh security forces of fake encounter; claim five victims were villagers

Though the statement in the beginning said the five villagers were killed by security forces, it later stated that the villagers were missing and suspected to be killed.

Kothagudem: The CPI (Maoist) Maad division committee has alleged that the encounters that took place from December 10 to 13 in Indravati area of Maad division in Narayanpur district in Chhattisgarh state were fake encounters.

In a statement released to the media, the Maoists claimed that of the seven persons killed in the encounters, five were villagers and two were naxalites. Naxalites also released a dead persons list, which included the names of Maoist Odisha State committee member Karthik Dada (62) alias Dasru Dada and west Bastar division committee member Ramila Madkam.


As many as 4000 security personnel took part in the operation and caught a small patient-team comprising Karthik, who was ailing and Ramila, who was helping him, were caught and killed later, Maoists alleged.

Though the statement in the beginning said the five villagers were killed by security forces, it later stated that the villagers were missing and suspected to be killed.
