Nirmal: An Administrative Officer belonging to the Marketing department was arrested by sleuths of Anti-Corruption Bureau while allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 7,000 from a trader in Nirmal town on Wednesday.

In-charge Adilabad ACB DSP VV Ramana Murthy said the administrative officer T Srinivas was apprehended while collecting the bribe from Kummari Venkatesh, a trader for renewal of his license.

Srinivas reportedly harassed the trader demanding a bribe of Rs 10,000 for discharging his duties. Vexed by the greed of the officer, the trader approached sleuths of the ACB who in turn laid a trap and arrested at the time of receiving the bribe from the trader.
