Married woman gang-raped by unknown persons in Nirmal
A woman waiting for an autorickshaw was allegedly gangraped by three men in Nirmal town.
Nirmal: A married woman was gangraped allegedly by some unknown persons while she was waiting for hiring an auto-rickshaw at TGSRTC bus stand here on Friday midnight.
Police suspected that the woman belonging rom Manjulapur village was sexually assaulted by three persons at the bus station around 12.30 am. She was forced to consume liqour before being raped by the men at a secluded place near the bus stand. She was waiting to hire an auto-rickshaw at the time of the incident. A case was booked and investigations were taken up.
Superintendent of Police Dr Janaki Sharmila consoled the victim who was undergoing treatment at the government general hospital. She said that steps were being taken to trace the perpetrators. She stated that footage of CCTV cameras installed in the bus stand and surrounding areas were being scanned to detect the offenders.
