Hyderabad: People from different sections continue to condemn the alleged assault on a minor girl by Union Minister of State for Home Bandi Sanjay’s son Bandi Bhageerath.

The accused has been absconding since last one week. Demanding action against the accused students, youngsters and locals, especially women, held a massive candle rally at Amangal in Rangareddy on Thursday night.

The rally was taken from the bus stand to Srisailam highway road and returned to the bus stand. BRS General Secretary and former IPS Officer RS Praveen Kumar participated in the rally.

The students and youth raised slogans against the Congress government and demanded immediate arrest of the accused. Sporting black badges and holding placards of “Stand with the victim stand for justice,” the students and youth demanded justice for the minor girl.

“Demanding justice for the minor girl and arrest of the accused in the POCSO case, entire Telangana has been staging protests but the State government failed to act,” RS Praveen Kumar said on X.

The BRS General Secretary addressed the gathering. Despite the victim’s family pleading to register a case, the police made them sit in the police station till midnight, he said.

Infact, a case has been registered against the victim and all this was happening under Chief Minister and Home Minister A Revanth Reddy’s directions. The Congress government registered a case against the accused only after the BRS and people from different sections demanded action, he added.
