MAUD sanctions Rs 77.31 crore to upgrade 404 traffic signals in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: The Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MAUD) Department has accorded administrative sanction of Rs 77.31 crore for upgrading and maintaining 404 traffic signals within the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) limits.
On Thursday, the MAUD Department issued a Government Order (GO) stating that, based on the GHMC Commissioner’s proposal, administrative sanction had been accorded for Rs 77.31 crore towards the operation and maintenance of the existing 404 traffic signals and the Supply, Installation, Testing and Commissioning (SITC) of new traffic signals for a period of three years.
The GHMC will invite tenders through the e-procurement platform for executing the works, the GO said.
The project aims to ensure round-the-clock availability and smooth functioning of the existing 404 traffic signals, besides maintaining their connectivity with the Central Command and Control Centre and the control rooms under the three police commissionerates, the GO added.
