Mayasabha’ trailer launch: Team shares journey behind the political drama
Mayasabha, streaming on Sony LIV from August 7, tells the story of two friends whose lives take opposite turns in politics, starring Aadi Pinishetty and Chaitanya Rao in lead roles.
Hyderabad: The team of Mayasabha: The Rise of the Titans came together in Hyderabad, on Thursday, July 31, to talk about their upcoming political drama. The trailer launch event saw director Deva Katta, lead actors Aadi Pinishetty and Chaitanya Rao Madadi, producers Vijay Krishna Lingamaneni and Sree Harsha, and other cast and crew members sharing their thoughts.
Actor Sai Dharam Tej alias Sai Durgha Tej, who attended as a guest, spoke warmly about his bond with Deva Katta and wished the entire team success. He said the director had been working on this idea for more than ten years.
Deva Katta explained that Mayasabha is about two friends pulled apart by politics. “This is a series made with all heart. It is not a product, it is wealth that the audience will experience from August 7,” he said.
Lead actor Aadi Pinishetty said that being part of a political drama was always on his wishlist. “When Deva sir narrated the story, I immediately said yes. The amount of research that went into this will make people want to watch it in one go,” he said.
Chaitanya Rao Madadi, who plays the other lead, called the opportunity a big break in his career. “Working with legends like Divya garu, Nassar sir and Sai Kumar sir was an honour. Aadi has always been like a brother and guide to me,” he shared.
Producers Vijay Krishna and Sree Harsha said the project was very close to their hearts, while co-director Kiran Jay Kumar described the series as “a sensation in the making.”
The trailer shown at the event introduces Krishna Kanth Naidu (Aadi) and MS Rami Reddy (Chaitanya), two friends with different dreams whose path into politics turns them into rivals.
Set between 1974 and 1983, Mayasabha is inspired by events in united Andhra Pradesh and explores themes of friendship, betrayal and political ambition.
The ensemble cast includes Divya Dutta, Nassar, Sai Kumar, Tanya Ravichandran, Srikanth Iyengar, Ravindra Vijay and Charitha Varma. Music is by Shaktikanth Karthik and cinematography by Suresh Ragutu.
