Siddipet: In a bid to end her life, a first year MBSS student of Surabhi Medical College jumped off the first floor of the college building on November 17.

The 19-year-old student, who left a suicide note, had said she was ending her life because she was not able to control her obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) despite taking medicines for seven years. However, the management of the college kept the entire incident a secret, allegedly after a request by the student’s parents.

On Wednesday, when the police got information on the suicide attempt, Siddipet Three-Town police reached the medical college and enquired into the incident. The student, who sustained fracture injuries, was undergoing treatment in a private hospital in Hyderabad. Her condition was stated to be stable.

ACP Madhu said they would take appropriate action after enquiry.
