A 21-year-old second-year MBBS student from Rajasthan died by suicide in her college hostel at Pune’s B J Medical College. A note was found in which she mentioned undergoing psychiatric treatment and her desire to continue studying. Investigation is ongoing.
The 19-year-old student left a suicide note explaining that she was ending her life due to her struggle with obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), which she had been battling for seven years despite medication. However, the college management allegedly kept the incident under wraps at the request of the student's parents.
As per the preliminary investigations, the 20-year-old MBBS student was depressed over being fat and not able to overcome it and that is why he committed suicide
