Sangareddy: General Manager of Ordnance Factory, Medak, Alok Prasad on Monday said ODF will strive to be an export company in the defence sector in the days to come.
Stating that India was currently importing several defence equipment, Alok Prasad said it had started efforts to reverse the trend besides making the nation self-reliant.
Speaking to news reporters on the sidelines of an exhibition inaugurated by Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh at a virtual ceremony from New Delhi, Alok Prasad said the ODF was coming up with several works including Carrier Command Post Tracked Vehicle (CCPTV) which he said will be launched soon.
During the week-long exhibition, the ODF officials will put war tanks and other products on display at Sharat Stadium. Citizens will be allowed in the mornings and evenings to view them. They will also demonstrate one of the war tanks during mornings and evenings.
Director, Indian Institute of Technology-Hyderabad (IIT-H) Prof BS Murty, who attended the programme as chief guest, said he was looking forward to working with ODF by forging collaboration. He said Alok Prasad had proposed six projects at ODF to be considered as project works for M-Tech students of IIT-H.
Murty also called upon the young and qualified employees at ODF to pursue online M-Tech courses being offered by them so that they can improve their qualifications.
