Medak: SP D V Srinivas Rao on Friday cautioned that stern action would be taken against farmers found drying paddy or other grains on roads or along road margins, as the practice has led to several accidents.

In a press statement, the SP said farmers were covering paddy heaps with tarpaulins and stones, and unsuspecting motorists, particularly two-wheeler riders, were crashing into them. He said several accidents had already been reported in the district this season and warned that police would take serious action against those responsible.
