Medak: Fraudsters cheated a woman by showing a roadside plot of land but selling her another plot a few kilometres away from the road.
The woman, A. Jyothi, a resident of Kukatpally, had seen an interesting advertisement regarding the sale of a piece of agricultural land on Facebook. The land was located at Puthuluru village in Pedda Shankarampet mandal.
Jyothi and her family members visited the land and got it registered in her name after paying Rs.31.40 lakh per acre. However, after registration, Jyothi realised that the fraudsters had cheated her by registering another piece of land a couple of kilometres away from the road in the Nizam Sagar backwaters.
Following a complaint, Pedda Shankarampet police found her complaint to be true. The police arrested two persons Chavan Sagar and Jangam Srinivas. Five others involved in the cheating case were absconding.
