Hyderabad: The Telangana State Medical Council (TSMC) on Monday filed a complaint at Miyapur police station against an individual, Kalapala Bharat Kumar, who was working as a Duty Medical Officer (DMO) at Ankura Hospitals, Madinaguda by allegedly fabricating registration certificate, as a doctor.

“On receiving credible information, an inspection team headed by Dr Kadali Vishnu, member TSMC, along with Vigilance Officers M Ramu and M Rakesh made a surprise inspection at Ankura Hospital, Madinaguda on April 19. The inspecting team found that Kalapala Bharat Kumar was allegedly working as DMO at the hospital with forged registration certificate. He is also practicing medicine without a valid license and certificate and with the fabricated documents,” the Medical Council in a press release said.

Following the complaint, the Miyapur Police has filed an FIR, the Council said, adding that it is waiting for further information from the police.

The TS Medical Council urged all private hospitals, nursing homes and super-specialty hospitals to verify credentials of doctors before employing them in their hospitals.

The details of doctors can be verified in the website www.onlinetsmsc.in (under Doctors Search option), Council Chairman, Dr K Mahesh Kumar and Registrar, Dr Dhandem Lalaiah Kumar said.

Following the complaint from Telangana State Medical Council and subsequent inquiry by the HR Department of Ankura Hospital, Kalapala Bharat Kumar has been immediately terminated from his services as he submitted fake certificates.

“We are fully cooperating with the authorities and will continue to take all necessary steps to support the TMC and Police Department. Ankura Hospital is a responsible and committed healthcare institution that upholds the highest standards of patient safety, ethics, and professional conduct. We follow a stringent protocols and multi-stage verification process for all medical appointments. Patient care and trust are of utmost importance to us,” the hospital in a press release on Monday said.
